In order to present Egyptian hieroglyphic text and transliterations I've used a number of fonts in these pages. You can download them from this page.
For occasional use within text files (word, html, etc) I use:
Gardiner - a 5 File Hieroglyphic TTFont Set - Windows Download (418KB) Preview

Another, less user-friendly, set of hieroglyphic fonts is:
GlyphBasic - a 4 File Hieroglyphic TTFont Set - Windows Download (374KB) Preview

For more complicated sections of Egyptian I use WinGlyph.

The following fonts come from the Centre for Computer-aided Egyptological Research

The Egyptian transliteration font used by Glyph for Windows.

Once installed in your Windows system, it is available for use in other programs as well. You can unzip this download by Winzip (for example), and put the file in your font folder.
